How To Wear Booties pt. 1

Booties RS 1

Fall is officially bootie season. Personally I love a good bootie. They are comfortable, stylish and multifunctional.  When you think about it they are basically the perfect mashup between a pump and a boot. Which make them ideal for work and weekend. The ones that I have chosen to wear in this post are leopard and they lace up. I don’t know about you but, in my world leopard is a neutral. Meaning you can pretty much wear it with any and everything. Here I’ve paired them with one of the hottest looks for Fall, chunky knits and skirts.

For those of you who read this blog, you know that I’m not a sweater girl. However, I said this season I’m turing over a few new fashion leaves.

Also did you know skirts are back! All shapes and lengths. And what better shoe to pair them with then a great comfortable pair of booties. Here’s my 3 reasons why this look works with booties:

  1. Color Coordination: Color blocking is out for Fall 2014 and Monochromatic (one color from head to toe) is in. If the mono look is too serve for you, rocking brights with neutrals or multiple colors in the same family (tone/shade) are also great options. Here I’m rocking a cherry red sweater (forever 21, old) with a cognac orange faux leather skirt. Red + Yellow = Orange 🙂
  2.  Hosiery Optional: Until temps drop under 50 you can opt in or out of wearing stockings.  Booties can be worn either way and look great. Honestly, I’m not always a fan of pumps with stockings unless they are black and opaque. Booties give ladies options.
  3.  Variety: Booties come in all styles. These in particular work well for most life occasions. The leopard is punchy; it pops and shows my personality. While the laces add a bit of tradition and sensibility.  Wether you chose moto or mary jane style booties you can mix and match them with just about any outfit. From tee-shirts to sequins.
