Day In the Life Of A Stylist: 009

Hey Future Stylist Of America…

Its been a while since I did one of these post and far overdue. We on Team Skinny Minority have been doing a lot of admin work lately but we’ve picked up some styling jobs here and there.

Over the past few weeks I finished our lookbook (we are are so excited about it), restocked my kit, met up with the boys from American Dreaming Magazine and had Aryn Terry (from Embody Beauty and Winner of The 2010 Torrid House of Dreams Modeling contest) rock a K.R.A by Skinny Minority design to the 2010 Full Figure Fashion Week Runway Show! As always we have great things in the works.

This past week we did a shoot with Philadelphia vocalist Na’eemah Harper. It was a fairly easy shoot, not too long. Her legs are miles long and we accentuate them at all cost.We shot outside and it was a pretty chill day weather wise. Team Skinny Assistant D. Mckenzie was on set with me…

I love and die for vintage, I have a sick obsession and ever growing collection. Note: When you are building your portfolio collective great fashion pieces from anywhere you can, namely: thrift stores, flea markets and your families closets.

Why you may ask, because you never know what you might find, duh! Lol. Also because when you are just starting to test shoot and build your portfolio, you may not have any contacts to pull clothing from or a credit card. My vault of collected items has come in handy on every shoot I’ve ever done!

Na’eemah is a Skinny Minority Client and we love working with her. Here are a few pics from our last shoot for her album art. Up next we will be doing her music video, which we are too hype about.

Check out her Single “Identity”  on our Tumblr. Yes We Have 1 too.

Until the next time… We thank you for reading.
